We understand life can sometimes get in the way of adventure! We want you to be able to book your holiday with confidence, knowing that if something unexpected comes up you have the flexibility to change your plans without penalty.
We offer a 48 hour cooling-off period on all bookings made over 90 days ahead of departure. If you can’t get the time off work, or something else has been overlooked during booking, we will refund your deposit or move your dates/adventure free of charge.
After this time we will begin making arrangements for your holiday and any cancellation will be subject to our cancellation policy, found at https://thegrandadventurecompany.com/booking-conditions/.
Once your trip is confirmed and the 48-hour cooling-off period has elapsed, if something comes up that prevents you from travelling, or you just change your mind, you may switch your booking to a different date or even destination with no financial penalty. You must inform us of such change at least 90 days ahead of your departure. Otherwise, it will be treated in accordance with our cancellation policy, as above.
Can I transfer my booking/deposit to another person?
Yes, as long as the deposit is used within 12 months of the original booking it can be used by another nominated person. This person must meet any pre-requisite fitness and skill requirements and complete all relevant paperwork as with a normal booking.
Exceptions and non-refundable elements
The Flexible Deposit and transfers are only available up to 90 days before the tour departure date and exclude non-refundable elements of your holiday. We recommend informing us as soon as possible if you intend to change your booking, as this will reduce the chance of non-refundable arrangements having been made.
Non-refundable elements are services and bookings that we make and pay for in advance on your behalf and cannot recoup if cancelled, e.g trekking permits, international or internal flights, advanced hotel bookings. These amounts will be deducted from any transferable Flexible Deposit. If wishing to transfer a deposit to a new trip where an amount has been deducted, the shortfall to the new trip deposit amount must be paid to confirm the new booking.
You will be informed of any non-refundable elements in advance of them being made. Where a non-refundable cost is greater than the deposit amount, e.g. international flight, you will be asked to make a payment of this amount before we are able to make the arrangement.
